I went on a tour of Chicago with Jean, Michael and their bridal party. We went everywhere from Wrigley Field to the Adler Planetarium for their wedding pictures. However I think the highlight of the day was the Westin at Yorktown Center in Lombard. It is one of my favorite suburb hotels for pictures of the bride and groom. How can you go wrong with giant walls with water flowing down them. Truth be told,  Jean would stand out against any background. She is absolutely stunning! Dan and Nikki met at Marquette almost seven years ago and returned to Milwaukee for their wedding. We had a great time and I even got to be in a few of the pictures! Thanks for a great shoot.

Glen Oaks Country Club is one of my favorite outdoor locations to shoot in Des Moines. It was rainy most of the day, however when it did clear up the temperature shot to 95 degrees with 100% humidity, but we still managed to have some fun on the course.

I can’t remember posting an album on the blog before, but this is a great one to start with. I seem to have had a string of easy going clients the past few weeks. Kelly and Ryan were no exception. We had a great time touring the city after the ceremony. Thanks to the bridal party for putting up with the heat. I’ve walked by the Trump Tower a thousand times, but it never really stood out to me like it did on this shoot. I’m not sure it will look like this again. Most people in this area know that July can bring rain or heat. I’m still not sure how, but we avoided both for the this outdoor wedding. Jen and David had the perfect weather and an unbelievable location. The Armour House is by far one of my favorite outdoor locations to date. On a side note, these two are the reason I love my job. We had a limited time to shoot after the wedding but they let me take them anywhere I had in mind. Thanks for the short trek down to the lake!

Megan and Matt were married last winter. I was just preparing a few of their images and couldn’t help but post their movie. 3 stories of window light at the hotel was a dream come true. We shot a good portion of the girls right in the main lobby of the hotel. Marilyn, the wedding planner from, Honey Bee Weddings even helped out a bit holding one of my video lights!

Candice and Sidney had both their ceremony and reception at the Ivy Room in Chicago. It truly has ivy running up all the courtyard walls. What a cool place for cocktail hour!

Although I almost fell out of the Rolls Royce that took us around town, it was of course a great addition to their images. I worked with two of my favorite people at the wedding, Chrissy from Big City Bride and the always an adventure, Jason Groh, from Lexoria Wedding Films.

One more highlight that I can’t forget, a bar of freshly made waffle bowls overflowing with Coldstone Ice Cream. Have I mentioned my love for all things sweet?

I always look forward to outdoor weddings. Sara and Jon were married at the Hilton Chicago Indian Lakes Resort. They were up for a ride in the golf carts and we found a few fun spots to shoot. I can’t remember if I actually raked the sand trap after I stood in it. None the less is was worth the images we walked away with!
