The first half of our family shoot was at the end of Fullerton at Lake Michigan. Ty and Ryan entertained most of the people on the benches with a leaf fight while we waited for the sun to set. You’ll see at some point I had to come to Ryan’s rescue due to Ty treating him more like a crash test dummy than a baby.

During wedding season it is almost impossible for us to spend time together on the weekends. Sue brought the boys in the city in October in between a few of my engagement shoots. So you all know, we started the session like all family sessions start. Ryan was drooling from a starburst that Sue had just given him and Ty was pouting because he didn’t want to wear his nice new shirt. I hope these images brighten your day. I can’t stop laughing when I look at them.

Dan and Nikki met at Marquette almost seven years ago and returned to Milwaukee for their wedding. We had a great time and I even got to be in a few of the pictures! Thanks for a great shoot.

Glen Oaks Country Club is one of my favorite outdoor locations to shoot in Des Moines. It was rainy most of the day, however when it did clear up the temperature shot to 95 degrees with 100% humidity, but we still managed to have some fun on the course.

I can’t remember posting an album on the blog before, but this is a great one to start with. I seem to have had a string of easy going clients the past few weeks. Kelly and Ryan were no exception. We had a great time touring the city after the ceremony. Thanks to the bridal party for putting up with the heat. I’ve walked by the Trump Tower a thousand times, but it never really stood out to me like it did on this shoot. I’m not sure it will look like this again. Megan and Matt were married last winter. I was just preparing a few of their images and couldn’t help but post their movie. 3 stories of window light at the hotel was a dream come true. We shot a good portion of the girls right in the main lobby of the hotel. Marilyn, the wedding planner from, Honey Bee Weddings even helped out a bit holding one of my video lights!

Candice and Sidney had both their ceremony and reception at the Ivy Room in Chicago. It truly has ivy running up all the courtyard walls. What a cool place for cocktail hour!

Although I almost fell out of the Rolls Royce that took us around town, it was of course a great addition to their images. I worked with two of my favorite people at the wedding, Chrissy from Big City Bride and the always an adventure, Jason Groh, from Lexoria Wedding Films.

One more highlight that I can’t forget, a bar of freshly made waffle bowls overflowing with Coldstone Ice Cream. Have I mentioned my love for all things sweet?

I always look forward to outdoor weddings. Sara and Jon were married at the Hilton Chicago Indian Lakes Resort. They were up for a ride in the golf carts and we found a few fun spots to shoot. I can’t remember if I actually raked the sand trap after I stood in it. None the less is was worth the images we walked away with!

It seems hard to believe that we had a sunny day in Chicago in the last few weeks, but we had the perfect weather day for Robin and Andrew. They are returning to quite a busy schedule. Robin will be will be starting a Masters program at UNI and Andrew will be starting Medical School at the University of Iowa. Their wedding was at St Mark’s Episcopal Church and the reception was at the Eagle Brook Country Club.
