Shoots: Bride and Groom

History in Lincoln Park

Chances are good you have walked past the Chicago History Museum a hundred times and not given it much thought. The west side of the building is fairly unassuming, but when you get to the back it’s an entirely different story. The back or east side of the building opens up to massive pillars, a ton of steps and a huge concrete area surrounded by a park. During the day you get more of the park feel, but as night falls you really start to feel like you’re back in the city. These are a few images from Kate and Ryan’s reception this summer at the Chicago History Museum.

Pics on a toilet – I can explain.

I met Elizabeth and the girls at the Danada House in Wheaton for their getting ready pictures. What a great spot to get ready. There is a ton of great light and some fun places to shoot. With perfect light and great patterns on the wall you can take your pick of black and white or color images. My favorite image of the morning actually came from the bathroom. I’m not going to lie, it took me a few minutes to figure out how I was going to explain to Elizabeth that we pretty much had to shoot pictures in the bathroom. 99% of my brides will do just about anything I ask when it comes to pictures. This however was even a stretch for me.  Her response, “just tell me what to do.” I quickly followed with, “just lean over on the toilet.” So the question, would you lean on a toilet for this first shot?Allori Photography Chicago Wedding Photographer wedding photography wedding photographs bride and groom ea02401 Pics on a toilet I can explain. Tanja and Tony at my favorite hotel

When I met with Tanja and Tony a year ago I told them I couldn’t wait to shoot at the W City Center in Chicago. This was my first time shooting wedding pictures there but I knew it would instantly be a favorite spot. Even Tanja’s room provided great window light for her getting ready pictures. Thank you Tanja for putting up with me before the wedding. We used the main lobby, the upstairs, a hallway and even stopped in the bar for a few pictures before all the girls headed for the trolley.

Enjoy the show…
