We of course took a ton of pictures during normal daytime hours, but Kelley and Mark wanted something a little different. Armed with sparklers, the Chicago Riverwalk and Michigan Ave as a backdrop we set out to have a little fun. I love shooting at night and with such a great city and bridal party. We had a blast. I seem to hear, I really want pictures by The Bean and in Millennium Park, but I don’t want hundreds of people next to us. As you can see in the images below it’s not that complicated to take images without a ton of people standing next to you. When we arrive at the park I spend a minute or so finding where the light is falling. Good light is the first step to great wedding images. Once the light is taken care of we can quickly get images that don’t focus on hundreds of tourists. 20 people in a bridal party, 10 bridesmaids, or just a bride and groom, there’s always a perfect spot to shoot in Millennium Park.

There is really nothing better than great light and a well designed room for bridal pictures. I started pictures with Brittany at her house before we went over to St Michael Parish in Wheaton. There was a short amount of time for bridal party pictures at the St. Charles Country Club but we managed to get quite a few fun shots. I had to include a pictures of the h’ordeuvres. The Country Club did an amazing job with the food prep.

Their wedding ceremony was at the Wheaton Bible Church. After the ceremony PJ, took all of the bridal party and family wedding pictures at the Hurley Gardens in Wheaton. What a great spot! Dana and Nick had their wedding reception at The Hotel Arista. You’ll see how contemporary it is with a few pictures and the end of the movie with the bride and groom.

We started at the Omni Hotel then Kate and Ryan had their first look of the day at the Peninsula Hotel. If you haven’t been to the bar in the Peninsula I suggest a visit. If you are looking for a unique spot for pictures in Chicago stop by the bar.

The Chicago tour continued with Michigan Ave and Olive Park for bridal party pictures before the ceremony at St. Josaphat Catholic Church. The reception was at one of my favorite reception venues in Chicago, the Chicago History Museum. The back are is perfect for cocktail hour and the main hall is a great space for a formal dinner.

I’ve been to quite a few weddings at St. Michael but Brittany and Zach’s came with a surprise from Father Sonny. You’ll notice him playing guitar in the middle of this movie. He stopped and sang them a song while he played mid ceremony. From the look on their faces it was pretty special for the bride and groom.

Post ceremony we headed west to the St. Charles Country Club. If you have not been, it is a Country Club worth visiting. Tucked back in the trees and on a rolling hill, the club provides wonderful backdrops for wedding pictures. Lookout for pictures of the dessert trays that came out late in the evening. They really spent a lot of time making all of the details perfect for Brittany and Zach.
