At 18 months Ty had only slightly less energy than he does now at 4. I was preparing a postcard for my new children site and came across this image. Whenever I see this I stop and remember how small he was. I can’t wait to get the canvas print out of storage and hanging in my new office.

Jen and Jordan are all laughs all the time. We even shot part of their engagement session in a Chicago improv comedy club! Normally while shooting I’m smiling or I’m sure making some sort of happy face. With Jen and Jordan, I actually had to put the camera down from time to time due to the non stop laughs. Since they are so easy going we even took a detour off our scheduled shooting locations to grab these shots. Gotta love Olive Park and the Chicago skyline for wedding pictures.

Sheena and Rob were married in September of 2008. I love this shot from Medinah Country Club. As photographers we are lucky to be a part of so many major moments. I can’t really put into words what it is like to be part of a wedding then photographing a couple with their first child. I say it all the time, but this really is a rewarding job!

I was finishing up Charlotte’s wedding album today and thought I would share a few images. If you have ever seen me shoot at a wedding you know it is rare for me to take my flash out of my camera bag. I really prefer the natural quality of available light. Notice how Charlotte almost has a glow to her in the window light. In complete contrast you can see the light from the Blackstone hotel in Chicago is completely different. Br>

Yes, I am a Chicago wedding photographer, but I got my start in Des Moines. I photographed Lindsay’s brother’s wedding a few years ago before I moved back home to the Chicago area. Naturally when I got the call that she was getting married in Des Moines I had to make the trip back.

Chicago offers so many options for a reception venue. Brian and Liz chose Galleria Marchetti. Although the rain seemed almost never ending in August. We luckily had a few minutes to grab a few shots outside before heading under the tent for the reception.

Dan and Nikki met at Marquette almost seven years ago and returned to Milwaukee for their wedding. We had a great time and I even got to be in a few of the pictures! Thanks for a great shoot.
