I’ve shot a lot of fun wedding over the last few weeks. I thought I would share a few favorite images. First are a few from Kelly and Ryan’s wedding at the end of July. This was the last sunny day I’ve had to shoot in a month!
Sue and I took the boys to @shedd_aquarium last week. If you haven’t seen the renovations you must check them out. They are incredibly kid friendly! The Beluga whales were rubbing up against the glass right in front of Ty. As we left the new submarine area Ryan and Ty changed in to penguin costumes. Luckily the sizes stopped at Ty’s size otherwise I may have been in one as well.
Glen Oaks Country Club is one of my favorite outdoor locations to shoot in Des Moines. It was rainy most of the day, however when it did clear up the temperature shot to 95 degrees with 100% humidity, but we still managed to have some fun on the course.
I can’t remember posting an album on the blog before, but this is a great one to start with. I seem to have had a string of easy going clients the past few weeks. Kelly and Ryan were no exception. We had a great time touring the city after the ceremony. Thanks to the bridal party for putting up with the heat. I’ve walked by the Trump Tower a thousand times, but it never really stood out to me like it did on this shoot. I’m not sure it will look like this again. Just a few of our picture locations include, Millennium Park, The Bean, and the Holiday Inn Chicago Mart Plaza

Most people in this area know that July can bring rain or heat. I’m still not sure how, but we avoided both for the this outdoor wedding. Jen and David had the perfect weather and an unbelievable location. The Armour House is by far one of my favorite outdoor locations to date. On a side note, these two are the reason I love my job. We had a limited time to shoot after the wedding but they let me take them anywhere I had in mind. Thanks for the short trek down to the lake!

I’ll be posting a few of my favorite images over the next few weeks. Get ready, I have 11 weddings in 8 weeks. Here are a few from the last 3 weekends.
Candice was really in to her red flowers. I thought this would be a great way to show them off. This image was taken at the Conrad Hotel in Chicago
Sarah was so relaxed in the hotel room. I was pretty much laying on the bed to get this shot, but it was certainly worth it.

Amy wanted to to head to North Avenue beach. We made our way through the masses and shot by the lake. What a fun spot.
As some of you know Sue and I have 2 crazy little boys. Our world is full of constant laughs, critter camps, dirt, hitting, broken bones, soccer, broken windshields, and a lot more craziness. As I type this the boys are treating me like a jungle gym. Admittedly, walking in to Alex’s closet full of dresses is a completely foreign world to me. Leslie, (mom) has impeccable taste. We easily moved from room to room finding spots for Alex’s different outfits.
Megan and Matt were married last winter. I was just preparing a few of their images and couldn’t help but post their movie. 3 stories of window light at the hotel was a dream come true. We shot a good portion of the girls right in the main lobby of the hotel. Marilyn, the wedding planner from, Honey Bee Weddings even helped out a bit holding one of my video lights! Megan and Matt had their ceremony at Holy Name Catholic Church and the reception was at the Murphy Auditorium.
